Fake food products are one of the major problems not only in the Philippines but also in different countries all around the world, which raises the concern of the consumers.A video of an alleged fake fishmeat has been circulating online which is made of foam and plastic being sold in the supermarket.


A Facebook user named Nirmala Samboo recently has uploaded the video of an alleged fake fish, which was made up of foam and plastic. The fake fish was bought from a Nigerian supermarket, which drew mixed reactions from the social media.




In the video, it can be seen that the netizen was peeling the alleged fake fish and tearing it into pieces to show that it was made up of plastic and foam. Samboo also squeezed the flesh of the fish to prove that it was really fake.




The video garnered different reactions from the netizens in the social media. Netizens said that the video uploader should cook the fish first if it melts it is really a fake one. It also sparked an online debate in the social media.




Those who viewed the said video had mixed reactions. Others said that the fish might have been on the fridge for a long period of time that is why the meat might appear similar to plastic fibers.
