Lockers are very useful to people when they want to enjoy without struggling on carrying their bags, stuffs or valuables. You can find these lockers on public places to sometimes avoid theft.
However, In China, there is a couple reported of leaving their baby inside the locker as they didn’t want to take care of their baby while they swim with their other older kids. The incident was even caught on the video.
Parents should be the one to be keen on children’s safety but this maybe is not the priority of these parents. That’s why when this video was posted on a Chinese website news, they received a lot of ire and negative comments from the Netizens.
In the video, the child was wailing and was clearly distressed as the mother pulled him out of the lockers. Apparently, they had a hard time opening the lockers at first, and needed to ask assistance from the staff. Upon hearing the child’s cries from the lockers, people began filming and were equally shocked to see a baby being pulled out.
The staff was speechless on what she saw.
The child did not show any signs of injuries according to the reports, fortunately the kid did not suffocate but definitely it is a traumatizing experience and will get a psychological impact on the later years.
On Weibo, the Chinese equivalent to Twitter, many people were shocked by the couple’s behaviour, calling them ‘careless’, ‘selfish’ and ‘irresponsible’.
One user commented: ‘The child looked powerless when it was pulled out. How scared the child must have been after being left in such a dark and small space.’
Another user said: ‘How careless could the parents be? The child is not an object. If it’s not convenient, then don’t go to take the bath.’
Some people got worried as the child may suffer from Claustrophobia in the future. Other claims that the parents should be deprived of the kid’s guardianship of the child.
What do you think of this video? Was there any negligence on the parent’s part? What could have happened?
